Stacy Smith Brown is a partner of the firm who became a member on January 1, 2007. She practices oil and gas law with an emphasis on MMS regulations and contracts relating to the acquisition and operation of offshore oil and gas leases. Ms. Brown received her B.A. in accounting from Louisiana State University in 1986, and her J. D. from Tulane University School of Law in 1989. Ms. Brown appeared as counsel in Coleman v. Chevron Pipe Line Co., 673 So. 2d 291 (La. App. 4th Cir. 04/24/96), cert. den. 681 So.2d 1259 (La. 1996), in which she successfully prosecuted an expropriation of land in the Bohemia Spillway for Chevron Pipe Line Company's Empire Oil Terminal. Ms. Brown is currently the president of the New Orleans Chapter of the Energy Bar Association. In 1993 she served as chairman of the Law School Liaison Committee for the Young Lawyers Section of the Louisiana Bar Association.
