John M. Theriot joined the firm in 2024 as an associate in the New Orleans office. Mr. Theriot’s practice includes commercial litigation, bank litigation, oil and gas, maritime, construction, and property.

A native of Houma, Louisiana, John graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School before attending Louisiana State University. As a participant in LSU’s 3+3 Pre-Law Program, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a focus in Law and Legal Systems, and graduated summa cum laude in 2022. He then received his Juris Doctor Degree and Diploma in Comparative Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU where he graduated cum laude in 2024.

During law school, John participated in trial advocacy and apprenticeship programs, as well as LSU Law’s renowned Barrister Bowl, an annual tackle football game that raises money for charity. Mr. Theriot also worked throughout law school as a law clerk for a variety of firms, ultimately landing as a law clerk under the firm’s summer clerkship program, and he has continued working with the firm ever since.
