This summer, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will issue the 10 millionth utility patent. In anticipation of this extraordinary feat, the USPTO has redesigned the nation's patent cover for the second time in a hundred years. The design was presented at the South by Southwest Festival on March 11, 2018, in Austin, TX. 

"This new patent design not only celebrates how far we've come and the new frontiers we have yet to explore, it also represents the cornerstone and the currency of an American intellectual property system that has given so much to the world and will continue to do so for ages to come," comments Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO.
