Raymond G. Areaux, a founding partner of the firm and Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group, continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. This marks his 27th consecutive year teaching the “Trademarks and Unfair Competition” course.
“I love teaching this course on a subject I live every day in my practice: the importance of brands, trademarks, and the dynamics of the marketplace and consumer perceptions,” Ray also shared that: “It’s a privilege to teach smart law students, and it comes with an inherent bonus: their challenging questions keep me sharp.”
Several of Ray’s former students have gone on to serve as Trademark Examiners at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. For the past decade, Ray has also taught the “Information Privacy” course at Loyola as an Adjunct Professor. His practice focuses on obtaining, licensing, and litigating intellectual property rights.
