Todd Owers Appointed to the Publications Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA)

New Orleans, LA - Carver Darden is pleased to announce that Theodore (Todd) S. Owers III has been appointed to serve on the Publications Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Mr. Owers is based in the firm’s New Orleans office and concentrates his practice in the areas of trademark and unfair competition law.  Mr. Owers has over 20 years of experience counseling clients on acquiring, protecting, maintaining, and enforcing trademarks, service marks, and brand names.  He regularly represents clients in trademark matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including ex parte prosecution of new applications to register and inter partes oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  He serves as a guest lecturer for the Trademarks and Unfair Competition Law class at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law.  Mr. Owers advises clients in the food and beverage, software, engineering, insurance, sports, and entertainment industries, among others.

The International Trademark Association is a global nonprofit of brand owners and professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting the value of trademarks, brands, and complementary intellectual property to foster consumer trust, economic growth, and innovation. Its membership comprises nearly 6,000 organizations from 181 countries, representing more than 33,500 professionals.  The Publications Committee produces and maintains most of the members-only legal resources, including practitioners’ checklists, practice guides, country guides, fact sheets, industry papers, and more.
