Carver Darden is pleased to announce that Stephen P. Scullin has been reappointed Chair of the Purchase and Sale Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law for the 2026–2027 bar year (September to September).

Having previously held the position, Mr. Scullin will continue guiding the committee’s work. A partner in the firm’s New Orleans office, he concentrates his practice on real estate matters, counseling clients on acquisitions, sales, development projects, and financing. His experience includes negotiating loan and security agreements and guaranties, rendering legal opinions in secured lending transactions, and drafting and reviewing a wide range of contracts.

Mr. Scullin’s practice also extends to business reorganizations, mergers, and the dissolution of corporations, partnerships, and joint ventures.

The ABA Purchase and Sale Committee addresses significant issues in land transfers, prevailing industry practices and customs, with a particular focus on the analysis of provisions commonly found in commercial purchase and sale agreements.

Drawing on his extensive experience and demonstrated leadership, Mr. Scullin is well prepared to guide the committee effectively throughout his term.
